Job Summary

Dalton State College invites applications for a full-time, 10-month faculty position in English, beginning on August 1, 2026. Depending on experience and qualifications, the appointment will be made at either the tenure-track Assistant Professor or Lecturer level.

Dalton State seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic educator who is passionate about teaching writing and literature to a diverse student body in a supportive and collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellence, or potential for excellence, in:

1. Teaching and student learning

2. Supporting student success through mentoring, advising, and engagement

3. Research, scholarship, or creative activity, particularly projects that involve students

4. Service to the institution and community

5. Professional growth and continued learning

Teaching responsibilities are 24 credit hours per academic year for a tenure-track Assistant Professor or 27 credit hours per academic year for a Lecturer. Courses may include composition, literature, and other English offerings at both the core and upper-division levels. Teaching assignments may occur during the day, evening, online, or at off-campus locations.

Preference may be given to candidates with experience or expertise in Learning Support English and ESOL
