Dalton State College School of Health Professions is seeking a part‑time Social Work instructor. The position is temporary, part‑time, and will be a semester‑by‑semester agreement based on need. Candidates must have a master’s degree in social work from a CSWE‑accredited program and a minimum of three years’ practice experience. LMSW or LCSW licensure is preferred, not required. Teaching experience in a higher education setting or as a social work field instructor is strongly desired.

Bilingual Spanish/English is preferred.

• Teach undergraduate social work courses, primarily micro‑practice courses (generalist).
• Teach one course (3 or 4 credit hours) per semester while accommodating a variety of learning styles and instructional strategies.
• Assess student competency for both SACS and CSWE.
• Use face‑to‑face classroom instruction only; this is not an online teaching position.

• Master’s degree in social work from a CSWE‑accredited program.
• At least three years of post‑MSW practice experience as a generalist social worker primarily at the micro‑level.
• Understanding and ability to teach and uphold the National Association of Social Workers ethical standards and the Council on Social Work Education Professional Competencies.

• College classroom teaching experience in a generalist social work program and familiarity with CSWE accreditation standards.
• LMSW licensure in good standing or LCSW licensure or eligibility in the immediate future in Georgia or Tennessee.

• Experience in micro social work practice; additional mezzo/macro/meta experience is beneficial.
• Evidence of teaching/classroom effectiveness.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Willingness to accommodate a variety of learning styles and use applied learning approaches.
