Job Summary
The School of Health Professions at Dalton State College invites applicants for a part-time position (10-month), beginning August 1, 2026. Faculty workload at Dalton State College consists of the following five components: (1) teaching, (2) student success, (3) research/scholarship/creative activity or academic achievement, (4) professional service to the institution or community, and (5) professional growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in the respiratory therapy sequence as well as additional courses in their area of expertise in the classroom, skills lab, simulation lab, clinical instructing and coordination of student clinical assignments.
Other duties include keeping office hours, assessment of student learning and clinical skills. Teaching assignments may include day, evening, off-campus, online courses, and opportunities for summer teaching.
Thanks to outstanding community support, the School Health Professions has state-of-the-art facilities and equipment for teaching skills to undergraduate respiratory technology students. The respiratory therapy program has an energized laboratories for student instruction and skills assessments helping to prepare respiratory therapists for professional practice. In addition, the respiratory technology program has numerous clinical sites for student assignments throughout the north Georgia and southern Tennessee regions.
The School of Health Professions has an interprofessional simulation center that has high-fidelity computerized manikins which allows for realistic simulations for real life scenarios. These scenarios create a simulated clinical experience that requires student interventions preparing healthcare students for professional practice.

This position is a half-time position with a minimum starting salary of $24,750.

Responsibilities
* Teach courses at the undergraduate respiratory therapy level with clinical responsibilities. The teaching load will consist of various credit hours per academic year
* Coordination of student scheduling in clinical assignments
* Assist other respiratory therapy faculty with student orientation, preparing student documents for the student handbook and class instruction, instructing students in clinical assignments, adherence to the accreditation process and standards, and evaluating student clinical skills at both the college and clinical settings
* Actively participate in both program admission procedures and program completion activities
