Description:
The Children’s Director is a bivocational role based in Dalton, GA, with some in-office meetings. This role oversees all aspects of children’s ministry, including planning and leading age-appropriate Bible teaching, worship experiences, and discipleship activities for children. The Children’s Director organizes and executes children’s events, programs, and outreach initiatives in coordination with church leadership and volunteers. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing curricula, recruiting and training volunteers, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment, and communicating regularly with parents and caregivers.
The role also involves collaborating with pastoral staff, participating in church-wide activities, and maintaining alignment between children’s ministry and the overall mission of Temple Baptist Church.
- Demonstrated skills in Childcare and Teaching, with experience leading children in faith-based or educational settings.
- Ability to plan, organize, and execute programs and activities, including Event Planning for children’s ministry and church events.
- Experience in Training volunteers or staff to support children’s programs and ensure consistent, high-quality care and instruction.
- Background or familiarity with Social Services, especially in providing compassionate support and care to children and families.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with church staff, volunteers, and parents.
- Commitment to a Christ-centered lifestyle and alignment with the doctrine and mission of Temple Baptist Church.
- Organizational skills and attention to safety, including awareness of best practices for child protection and risk management.
- Relevant experience in church ministry or children’s programming; a degree in education, ministry, or a related field is beneficial.
