Project Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer

Zing Recruiting, in partnership with a leading manufacturing organization in the Dalton, GA area, is seeking a Project Engineer to join their team. This role supports pre-production and product launch activities in a fast-paced environment and offers opportunities for growth and leadership.

Location:

Dalton, GA

• Develop and manage project master schedules aligned with customer milestones and internal targets
• Create build schedules, contingency plans, and recovery strategies
• Serve as the primary liaison between customers and internal teams
• Lead cross-functional coordination to ensure on-time, on-budget project delivery
  
  Maintain material/part forecasts for pre-production builds and trials
• Create and distribute sourcing sheets to track part status across departments
• Create and manage initial Bills of Materials (BOM) within the CMS ERP system
• Track open issues and facilitate problem resolution before mass production launch
• Liaise with international project engineers regarding schedules and build timing
• Compile project data into concise status reports for management
• Organize customer visits, audits, and technical meetings
• Ship trial parts for customer pre-production builds
• Plan and lead production trial activity to achieve Run@Rate
• Ensure production readiness activities are completed and customer expectations are met

• Education/Experience (No post‑high school education required):
  • 3–5 years of Engineering or Program Management experience preferred
  • Automotive industry experience preferred
• Education/Experience (Post‑high school education required):
  • Bachelor’s degree (Engineering preferred) with 1–2 years of relevant experience
  • Co‑op or internship experience strongly preferred

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multi‑task and manage workload efficiently
• Comfortable working with diverse teams and cross‑functional departments
• Ability to summarize large amounts of information for project teams and leadership
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power Point
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
• Fluency in Japanese or Spanish is a plus (not required)
