Staff Electrical Engineer
Shaw Industries is searching for a Staff Electrical Engineer to lead the development, design, and execution of electrical and power‑system projects. The role reports to the Engineering Manager and collaborates with manufacturing leadership, corporate teams, and external partners to bring complex projects from concept to completion. The focus is on innovative electrical engineering solutions.
Primary Responsibilities- Project Development and Administration: Develop and execute capital and expensed projects, create detailed scopes of work, schedules, and budgets; solicit stakeholder criteria; convert criteria into technical designs; prepare proposals; maintain project files and reports.
- Project Management and Execution: Apply engineering standards, project‑management processes, and tools; track spending and maintain cost control; oversee onsite contractors; enforce safety, ethics, and environmental policies; perform quality control and commissioning.
- Technical Expertise: Design electrical systems in industrial environments (24V, 4160V, 480V); apply NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, NFPA 70B, NESC/ANSIC2; develop process knowledge; collaborate for innovative solutions; provide coaching.
- Key Leadership
Competencies:
Plan and organize, drive results, initiate action, build trusting relationships.
- 4‑year degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
- Minimum 2years of industrial or engineering experience related to project management.
- Experience with power distribution and equipment installation.
- Proficiency in project‑management and engineering software (Smartsheet, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work overtime and after‑hours support.
- Ability to travel domestically (≈30%) and occasionally internationally.
8‑hour non‑rotating shift, starting in the morning. Shift hours start AM.
