Overview
The Process Sr. Engineer must provide direction, guidance, and support to all shift and day Process Technicians. The Process Engineer will apply continuous improvement methodology to enhance plant operations, supporting the specific plant goals in operational effectiveness (OE), job effectiveness (JE), safety and quality.

Location: Dalton, GA
Classification: Salary (Exempt)
Grade: G2
Responsibilities- Develop and implement methods for sampling, inspection, testing and evaluation of products.
- Initiate process improvement projects to increase efficiency, reduce costs, improve quality and defect analysis.
- Acquire knowledge and understanding for both front- and back-end processes.
- Collaborate with other teams to establish goals and improvement plans.
- Execute all required duties while practicing safe work methods and adhering to all plant safety rules.
- Drive investigation, proposal, procurement and launch of new process and operations improvements (flexible automation and manual equipment), develop specific metrics and conduct necessary audits.
- Assist development of a technical training plan for process engineering and continuous improvement methodology (Six Sigma, Lean, etc.).
- Develop troubleshooting guides for maintenance and operations personnel for line use and train employees in the plant.
- Participate with the EHS team to lead projects that improve worker safety and minimize incident risk.
- Serve as a change agent and systematically drive and implement change through cross‑functional efforts among safety, manufacturing and quality resources.
- Develop engineering documentation: PFMEA, Control Plans, Work Instructions, etc.
- Develop and maintain regular reports consistent with departmental needs to track progress and drive action on plant improvements.
- Support skill‑up of engineer level with mentoring and help with engineering qualification.
- Arrange process tasks for team members and team goals.
- Adhere to the policies and procedures of Hanwha Q CELLS USA, Inc.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering related field.
- 5+ years of related experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and analytical approach.
- Proven technical acumen.
- Engineering degree or equivalent technical college diploma.
- Able to stand and walk the production area throughout the workday.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds without restriction.
- Reaching, pushing, pulling, or lifting as required within limits set by Q Cells.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to filter big data and interpret it for data‑driven decision making.
- Ability to manage projects and groups as a leader.
- Experience with process management in manufacturing.
- Management or running experience at a manufacturing site.
- Extensive experience implementing new programs and data systems.
- Ability to utilize abstract reasoning techniques to build reporting logic and establish creative solutions to new problems.
- Ability to learn various software applications required for quality and performance reporting and analysis.
- Ability to work with ambiguous data sets and information, using people skills and intuition to navigate solutions.
