- Lead and manage large-scale automation capital projects from concept through commissioning, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, and vendor coordination
- Serve as technical lead for automation investments supporting flooring production processes
- Design, develop, integrate, program, and validate PLC-, HMI-, and SCADA-based automation systems and industrial networks
- Develop automation solutions for continuous processes, recipe management, changeovers, and product traceability
- Standardize control architectures, hardware, and software across plants
- Optimize manufacturing equipment and improve OEE, throughput, yield, energy efficiency, and scrap reduction
- Integrate drives, servo motion, vision, robotics, material handling, MES, quality systems, and plant utilities
- Analyze process data and implement closed-loop control strategies
- Lead FAT, SAT, commissioning, startup, and production ramp-up activities
- Conduct risk assessments, machine safety evaluations, and safety validations
- Manage project budgets, suppliers, OEMs, integrators, vendors, and technical scope
- Implement quality control measures and maintain engineering documentation, software standards, version control, and change management
- Train operations and maintenance teams and mentor junior automation engineers and technicians
- Provide expert troubleshooting, preventive maintenance strategies, and root cause analysis for automation issues
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related field)
- 7+ years of direct automation experience executing capital projects in a manufacturing environment
- Preferably experience within flooring, building materials, or continuous processing industries
- Advanced proficiency with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, industrial networks, motion control, and robotics
- Proven experience leading projects from concept through commissioning in live production environments
- Experience with high-speed flooring processes such as extrusion, coating, curing ovens, cutting, and finishing lines
- Familiarity with MES integration, production data systems, and quality tracking
- Strong understanding of industrial safety standards and risk assessment methodologies
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Demonstrates expertise in leading large-scale automation projects, including design, development, and integration of PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems. Proficient in optimizing manufacturing processes and ensuring compliance with industrial safety standards.
