This opportunity is open to both experienced Occupational Therapists and new graduates who meet the required education and licensure qualifications.
Position Summary:Our Client is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) to evaluate, develop treatment plans for, and provide treatment to patients across a variety of age groups.
The Occupational Therapist will assess each patient’s individual needs, establish appropriate goals and treatment plans, implement therapeutic interventions, and complete all required documentation related to patient care. This individual will work collaboratively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to support functional independence and positive patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:-
- Evaluate patients and assess their functional abilities, limitations, and individual therapy needs.
- Develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans based on evaluation findings and patient goals.
- Provide appropriate therapeutic interventions and modify treatment plans based on patient progress.
- Deliver care appropriate to the patient's age, developmental level, condition, and individual needs.
- Monitor patient progress and communicate changes or recommendations to the appropriate members of the care team.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation related to evaluations, treatment, progress, and discharge planning.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, therapeutic techniques, and strategies to support continued progress.
- Assist patients with transfers, mobility, positioning, and other activities as required during treatment.
- Participate in departmental projects, operational procedures, and other activities supporting rehabilitation services.
- Maintain appropriate safety, ethical, and professional standards in accordance with Occupational Therapy requirements.
- Provide coverage in outpatient, inpatient, community, or industrial settings as needed.
- Participate in weekend and holiday coverage rotations as required.
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
Certifications:
-
- NBCOT certification required.
- Must be currently licensed or eligible for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Georgia
. - Current BLS/CPR certification required.
- Previous Occupational Therapy experience is welcomed but not required; new graduates may be considered
. - Ability to evaluate patients and develop appropriate individualized treatment plans.
- Strong understanding of age-specific patient needs, growth, and development.
- Ability to select appropriate therapeutic equipment, supplies, and interventions based on patient needs.
- Strong patient communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Strong documentation, organization, and time-management skills.
- Commitment to professionalism, patient safety, and quality care.
