COATER Operator - 3rd Shift

Position Overview

Mohawk Industries is looking for a Coater Operator in the Dalton, Ga area. The operator will manage the coater within manufacturing facilities, observe upcoming styles, adjust speed and temperature, and apply chemicals to styles. The individual will adjust tenter wings, pin selvedge, and monitor backing applied to carpet.

• Clean tenter wings
• Clean latex lumps from puddle as needed
• Remove trash or latex off carpet as needed
• Change backing
• Change filter baskets
• Clean bottom and top applicator rollers
• Perform weight checks at prescribed intervals
• Attend job‑related training as deemed necessary by supervision
• Follow all established standard operating procedures
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary
• Perform other tasks assigned by management

• High school diploma or GED and two years of related experience
• Experience or equivalent training that provides knowledge of basic rules, procedures or operations, or basic skills to use office equipment
• Knowledge of company brands and product information required to perform the essential functions of this job

• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision in a team; works well with others, shows enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work
• Ability to form basic mathematics and weight measures
• Written communication, organizational skills, problem‑solving capabilities, detail oriented, and ability to communicate with others
• Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions and interpret department operating standards
• Under minimum supervision, job duties subject to specific instructions and standard work routine
• Ability to communicate in standard English to understand and follow verbal or written instructions and to keep simple records and make reports

• Ability to continuously lift up to 20 pounds
• Must be able to walk long distances, climb ladders, stand for long periods, bend, crouch, reach, kneel, and stoop as required
• Ability to work in non‑climate controlled facilities
• Vision depth perception and color perception required
• Work environment is noisy, high traffic production floor
• May be required to work a flexible schedule including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays; willing to work in all types of weather
