The Yarn Packer responsibility is to pack yarn in an orderly manner.

• Ensure finished cases of yarn from winders make it to packing area via robot. If Robot malfunctions, use pallet jack to move cases to packing area.
• Supply plastic dividers and cardboard to winder operators
• Collect all yarn sweeps from all twister machines and bring to baler area
• Make bales as needed.
• Push case to stretch wrap machine to wrap yarn and to scales to weigh.
• Ensure all cases are properly labeled
• Push yarn off scales and conveyor and pickup with lift truck and place in designated location
• Inspect cones for correct mark or label, winding and quality.
• Maintain warehouse clean and ordered.
• Help keep inventory correct.
• Load/unload trailers as needed and as directed by supervisor
• Report any machine malfunctions supervisor.
• Any other duties required by supervisor
• Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision
• Follow all established standard operating procedures
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary
• Perform other tasks assigned by management

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Lift truck license or complete lift truck certification

• Ability to read and write numbers
• Pays attention to details
• Able to communicate with peers and management
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
• Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
• Must be able to sit, stand, reach, bend and twist without restrictions.
• Able to push buggies full of yarn or tubes
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
• Constantly bend, crouch, and stoop throughout the shift
• Work in an environment that is noisy, non-climate-controlled facilities, and high traffic production floor
