Summary of PositionAdvanced mechanic focusing on maintenance duties of a broad scope. The Mechanic 3 is a trusted mechanic expected to operate individually or with a group across all areas of operation.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerforms supervised and unsupervised maintenance work on various equipment in all departments.
- Perform routine building maintenance and clean up
- Maintain weekly and monthly preventative maintenance schedule tasks and safety confirmations
- May assist in minor electrical work
- Operates advanced equipment (welders, cutting torch, etc.)
- Assists in inventory control tasks
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Education or experience level
- 3+ year experience in maintenance or engineering
- Advanced tool knowledge
- Advanced mechanical skills
- Exhibits advanced understanding of maintenance operations
- Basic electrical knowledge
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, PM schedules, and procedure manuals
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, stand for long periods of time; walk; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move objects up to 50 lbs.
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
