Position Summary
The Production Control Analyst ensures that daily production/purchasing requirements to support finished goods inventories are met through analysis and reporting. The position works with the management team to ensure that deadlines and schedules are met and thereby preventing stock outs /delays to maintain a high level of customer service.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Drive daily production/purchasing efficiencies by releasing production/purchase orders related to specific product lines and/or assigned project work based on material/capacity availability and demand requirements.
- Follow up with suppliers on material availability related issues/concerns to ensure shipment and on‑time performance to support production/purchasing requirements.
- Coordinate and arrange for premium shipments where necessary, confirm and verbally communicate expected EDAs/ETAs of premium shipments to receiving location and/or Materials Manager.
- Update SAP production schedules/shipment information and appropriate comments, including anticipated date of receipt for expedited shipments, as required.
- Resolve routine and unusual production/purchasing problems related to materials usage and availability by pro‑actively identifying problems and taking a lead in driving resolution and business process improvements.
- Work with Master Schedulers, Commodity Managers, and Suppliers to understand supplier capacities and advise on short‑term/long‑term capacities to minimize past‑due orders.
- Create, modify, and maintain realistic material, manufacturing, and procurement strategies for new product introductions/phase‑out products to support the NPI process.
- Work with the Master Scheduler to understand the monthly production/purchasing of targeted inventories: finished, semi‑finished, and raw materials.
- Maintain responsibility for inventory levels related to specific product lines and/or assigned project work.
- Assist Supply Chain Analysts, Production Planners, and Master Schedulers in problem‑solving and executing countermeasures for deviations from planned inventory levels.
- Review inventory‑planning parameters with Supply Chain Analysts and Production Planners to establish/maintain appropriate customer‑service driven safety stock/reorder‑point levels for finished goods based on the material‑planning playbook.
- Update plant SAP material records as required (lot size, safety stocks, reorder points, lead times, etc.).
- Understand and ensure material availability and develop activities/processes that continually improve customer service, inventory, quality, and time‑to‑market measurements.
- Monitor customer‑service metrics and analyze performance gaps related to assigned product groups.
- Adapt to change by identifying implications of change for Tarkett, own responsibilities, and adjust as needed in collaboration with others to implement change initiatives.
- Take accountability for meeting commitments and deadlines.
- Coordinate projects requiring new procedures and methods such as implementing a new system or process, and provide project technical support when analysis is required. Assist with system design and implementation.
- Interact effectively across multiple disciplines with internal and external resources.
- Develop presentations, documentation, and training on complex subjects and present material to a variety of audiences. Provide clear and concise written communications.
- Use key performance indicators to evaluate and recommend actions, analyze proposed changes in material planning and assess impact on day‑to‑day activity.
- Ensure thorough familiarity with company policies and procedures.
- BA in Operations/Materials/Business or equivalent experience.
- APICS certification desirable.
- Experience in material control and production/purchasing planning environment/operations/supply chain.
- Evidence of analytical aptitude.
- Advanced manufacturing systems planning knowledge – SAP system requirements strongly preferred.
- Advanced PC user – ability to use Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
