Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain the Coater (Machine) running by running the Roll Up Console to roll, cut & tape carpet to customer’s request.
To Do This One Must FirstLog in & retrieve all order information through the AS400 system to execute customer orders. Run roll up console to run, roll up, start/stop, cut, tape up/stretch wrap up, eject & label carpet or carpet rolls to complete each customer order all while making sure all quality standards are met. On an as needed basis, one will have to change tape or stretch wrap rolls on roll up heads.
Everyone is expected to maintain great housekeeping throughout assigned areas and shift. Must follow all safety procedures properly and conform to safe work practices.
- High school diploma or GED preferred. Basic English grammar, reading, and math skills.
- Able to learn Basic Computer skills. Must possess and maintain good aptitude and attitude. Must maintain an orderly work environment.
- Interpersonal skills, manual dexterity, mechanical skills, math skills, and judgement skills.
- Pays attention to details.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Ability to learn to turn on, log in and use a computer to access AS400 program.
- Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.
Carpet mechanical skills preferred. Frequently required to crawl, stoop, kneel, stand, walk, crouch, reach, handle, sit climb and balance. Able to lift, up to 35 pounds of weight. Must be able to work an 8/12 hour shifts, either day or night, weekdays or weekends as scheduled. Must be able to work a 12 hours shift to fill in for coworkers as needed.
WorkEnvironment
Work in a normal industrial environment with inherent background noise, dirt, high humidity, and temperature variations. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and in precarious places.
