Location:
Dalton, Georgia, United States, 30721
- Creates new design proofs and prototypes by operating tools and equipment in the lab and on the production floor.
- Assists the master sample collection process by laying out and picking up material for review sessions.
- Reports to the head of the creative lab.
- Responsible for making proofs and prototypes of the highest standard with great care for detail so they can be shared with internal and external customers.
- Labels and organizes all the samples and films made during the process (from start to finished product).
- Organizes and controls the raw materials needed for the prototyping process through stock take, aligning with lab coordinator and other production departments.
- Assists product reviews by unboxing material and laying it out for display; performs a first check of the material before review; after review sessions labels, collects and distributes approved material and correctly discards unused material.
- Keeps lab and shared production equipment in good working order.
- Maintains a clean and efficient work environment.
- Proactively suggests improvements that increase efficiency, quality and safety in the processes/tasks they are required to perform.
- Safely operates equipment such as box cutters, panel cutter, laminator, hot press, oven, spray booths, ink dispensers, cranes, proofing machines, pallet jack & forklift.
- Participates and complies with the site’s safety management system.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.
- High school diploma or greater.
- Minimum 3 years experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 3 years experience in the graphics industry preferred (working with colors, inks, prints or print equipment).
- LTO – Lift truck operator certification (or willingness to certify on the job).
- Overhead crane operator certification (or willingness to certify on the job).
- Must pass the color vision test (provided during recruitment process).
- Great attention to detail.
- Works in a structured, organized and methodical way.
- Takes ownership and responsibility of tasks.
- Can manage time and work independently in a fast paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build working relationships with other departments.
- Basic multiplication and division skills.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Commitment to company values and safe work practices.
- Able to lift and move around boxes with flooring products (up to 50 lbs).
- Able to perform 8 to 12 hour shifts.
