Machine Operator
Machine Operator operates various fabrication machines and fabricates material to specification, from job orders and document production data.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set-up, adjust, program, calibrate and perform preventative maintenance on fabrication equipment
- Fabricate products to specification, from job order and document production data at a level of output that minimizes production delays
- Perform quality checks to ensure all systems are set for correct operational sequencing and to meet product standards
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area to plant standards
- Knowledge of how to read measuring instruments (calipers, protractor, tape measure, steel ruler), read blueprints and operate hand tools
- Ability to read, write and use basic math skills includes fractions and decimals
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to follow precise instructions
- Will be required to cross-train as back-up in other areas of manufacturing plant
- Required to perform proper entry into the ERP system
- Other job-related duties may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position

- Gains the trust and respect of the supervisor, co-workers, and other employees
- Develops working knowledge of the production environment and has ability to respond to change
- Work to Continuously Improve the operations of the Department through Lean activities and Improvement suggestions
Requirements
- Prefer at least 6 months of experience working in a manufacturing facility
- Position requires good mathematical ability and the ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Positions requires the ability to operate precision measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, protractors, and tape measure
Working Conditions:
- Work in a production environment
- Steel toed boots and safety glasses must be always worn, ear protection and face shield are available
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of job
- Position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching
- Employee must occasionally lift, push, pull or move items over 50 pounds
