Location:
Whitfield County Health Department (Children's Clinic) in Dalton, GA.
- Perform well checks and sports physicals.
- Develop comprehensive plans of care using evidence‑based medicine, including patient medical data, health history, progress notes, and results of physical examination.
- Maintain current licensure, certification, and BLS for healthcare providers.
- Perform therapeutic procedures per protocols and professional experience including, but not limited to, injections, immunizations, suturing, and wound care.
- Administer orders and interpret diagnostic tests such as x‑ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests.
- Instruct and counsel patients about prescribed therapeutic regimens and health prevention/maintenance.
- Prescribe appropriate therapy or medications per protocols.
- Obtain physician approval for therapy or medications not based on protocols.
- Examine patients to obtain information about their physical conditions.
- Assist with other programs and services in the clinic and off‑site, if needed.
- May be asked to precept nurse practitioner students when available.
- Master's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
- Other education requirements approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing.
- Certification in the specialty area(s) approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing.
- Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse.
- Georgia license as an APRN.
- CPR certification.
All positions require criminal history record check. Required education credentials, license, certification, and/or registration must be submitted prior to employment in the position. Some positions require pre‑employment drug testing for the applicant who is offered the position.
