JOB SUMMARY

The Over-house Supervisor is a registered nurse who is responsible and accountable for the continuity of operations within the facility. This person is responsible for facilitating admission, discharge, and transfer activity, and for monitoring and maximizing capacity by promoting the efficient utilization of beds and the appropriate allocation of staff. The ability to communicate effectively with the necessary parties to find the most efficient and effective solutions to patient placement is essential to the role.

The Over-house Supervisor is skilled in listening to care providers, interpreting data, and evaluating needs of those involved in the processes, and collaborates with other disciplines to develop and maintain a high quality nursing care delivery system within the Medical Center. The Over-house Supervisor assumes responsibility for the Medical Center processes during the off shifts in collaboration with the Administrator on-call, as indicated.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing

Licensure
:
Current Georgia RN License, BLS CPR required

Experience: Three to four years of clinical experience required and some management experience preferred.

Skills: Nursing skills as defined in the Law Governing the Practice of Nursing in Georgia. Requires effective interpersonal and management skills.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Works in typical acute health care setting with pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients experiencing a wide range of medical and/or surgical problems. Required to work a rotating schedule including weekends. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions. Requires exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
