American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a 13-week assignment requiring 2 years of OR experience and GA or compact RN licensure.
Requirements- Active GA or compact RN license required
- BLS certification required (ACLS preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience required
- Any charting system experience required
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
- Experience with thoracic, general surgery, orthopedic, ortho/spine, and urology procedures preferred, including thoracotomy, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, thyroidectomy, arthroscopy, spinal fusion, joint replacement, cystoscopy, nephrectomy, and prostatectomy
- Skilled in emergency management and fire safety protocols
- Experience with cell saver equipment
- Knowledgeable in administration of blood and blood products, infection control, laser and radiation safety, specimen handling/labeling, universal protocol (time out) procedures, and wound management
- Operating Room unit within a hospital setting
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Day shift schedule (5x8 hours, 6:45 AM-3:15 PM)
- On-call responsibilities include 1-2 nights per week and 1-2 weekends per month
- Possible holiday call required
- Must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
- Local candidates within the radius are not accepted
- Previous permanent employees may return as travelers after a 1-year separation period
- Travel experience is preferred but not required if minimum OR experience is met
