• Assist store customers in donating, selecting, and purchasing items; operate and maintain a cash register; respond to customer questions; maintain cleanliness and orderliness of store displays; ensure security of store items and the cash register.
• Receive, sort, price, and prepare donated items for display; determine suitability and pricing based on standards; assist in maintaining orderliness and cleanliness of the warehouse area.
• Ring up sales, collect monies, count change, prepare receipts, and balance the cash drawer; run routine register printouts and prepare bank deposits; ensure security and accountability of all cash register funds and sales records.
• Explain store policy and respond to pricing or purchasing questions; ensure all customers have a pleasant experience.
• Assist customers donating items; direct to loading/unloading area; haul donations to storage; prepare and provide tax receipts as needed.
• Answer the store telephone in a courteous manner; respond to questions, provide directions or general information; schedule and record donation pick‑ups.
• Maintain the neatness and security of the cash register area; keep forms, bags, and supplies adequately stocked.

Ability to meet attendance requirements; read, write, and communicate in English; operate a cash register; perform routine math and count change; perform frequent walking, standing, kneeling, or squatting with relief by sitting or operating a vehicle.

Work requires the ability to lift, carry, and/or push/pull heavy donations (50‑100+ lbs.) such as furniture and appliances. Work is performed in a normal store environment with minimal physical discomfort related to weather or noise. In the warehouse area, noise, dust, and dirt may cause physical discomfort.

• High School diploma or G.E.D. with experience working in a retail store preferred.
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
