Shaw Industries Group, Inc. (a Berkshire Hathaway company) is a global leader in flooring products. This position requires the Territory Sales Manager to maintain and increase Shaw’s profitability and market share in a designated geographic area by building strong relationships with customers, dealers, designers and end‑users.
Position OverviewThe Territory Manager will develop good relationships based on knowledge, service, trust, and integrity. Business growth is achieved through implementing market programs and services, including sample placement, and maintaining a strong presence in the region.
Responsibilities- Conduct daily sales calls with existing customers, emphasizing the sale of soft‑surface flooring products, samples, displays, adhesive, and related floor products.
- Present products to retail dealers, designers, and end‑users and analyze all leads provided by corporate reports.
- Sell and construct display racks weighing 50lbs or more on a regular basis.
- Prospect for viable new accounts while staying aware of market developments within the territory.
- Prepare and communicate periodic sales reports that outline actual sales, sales goals, competitive market conditions, and product needs.
- Analyze sales statistics by reviewing computer reports specific to the territory to formulate goals and assist dealers in promoting sales.
- Control travel, entertainment, and sample budgets to meet budgetary requirements.

- Sell and promote all residential products, including Shaw Floors, A/T, and Philly Commercial, and educate customers on these products.
- Maintain a vehicle that can carry a number of product sample boards; the vehicle should be a van or an approved SUV capable of carrying more than 50lbs on a regular basis.
- Lift more than 50lbs on a regular basis and assemble and take down display fixtures as required.
- Reside within the territory (Buffalo, NY).
- Ensure compliance with approved vehicle requirements; for a complete list of approved vehicle classes or types, send an email to
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous sales experience required.
- Ability to interface with a diverse group of customers in a friendly and respectable manner.
- Competency in using a laptop computer and basic Microsoft Windows software, including MS Office.
- Physical ability to assemble and dismantle display fixtures.
- Ability to travel within the territory using a vehicle that can carry product samples and comply with safety and storage requirements.
- Ability to lift more than 50lbs on a regular basis.

8‑hour non‑rotating shift with hours falling to the in‑punch day and observed calendar. Shift starts in the morning. The position requires use of a vehicle capable of carrying flooring samples.
