Hard Surface Territory Manager

Position Overview

Shaw Industries Group, Inc. is seeking a Hard Surface Territory Sales Manager to maintain and increase profitability and market share in a designated geographical area. The role focuses on building strong relationships with customers, implementing major market programs, and promoting hard surface flooring products.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily sales calls with existing customers, emphasizing hard surface flooring products, samples, displays, adhesive, and related floor products.
  • Present products to retail dealers, designers, and end‑users, and analyze all leads provided by corporate reports.
  • Sell and construct display racks weighing 50 lbs or more on a regular basis.
  • Continuously prospect for viable new accounts while maintaining awareness of local market conditions.
  • Prepare and communicate periodic sales reports showing sales volume, goals, competitive market conditions, and product needs.
  • Analyze sales statistics from computer reports to formulate goals and assist dealers in promoting sales.
  • Control travel, entertainment, and sample budgets to meet budgetary requirements.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous sales experience required.
  • Ability to interface with a diverse group of customers in a friendly and respectful manner.
  • Proficient with a laptop computer and basic Microsoft Windows software, including MS Office.
  • Physically able to assemble and take down display fixtures and lift more than 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Must reside within the territory (Chattanooga, TN).

Vehicle Requirements

Territory Managers must operate and maintain an approved vehicle (SUV or van) that can accommodate product sample boards. The vehicle must meet minimum storage space requirements. Hybrid or high fuel efficiency vehicles are encouraged.
