Position Overview
Shaw Industries Group, Inc. is a leader in flooring and surface solutions. The Security Manager is responsible for managing, coordinating, and enforcing security operations across the enterprise.
This role ensures the protection of employees, contractors, visitors, assets, and property through effective leadership, risk management, and compliance with company policies and security standards. The Security Manager reports directly to the Director of Security.
Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and oversee security strategies and protocols to protect personnel, assets, and information.
- Manage security personnel and respond to security incidents.
- Design and implement security improvements using advanced technologies such as camera systems, access control, and AI systems.
- Maintain and manage access control systems, surveillance equipment, and other security technologies.
- Provide guidance on the design, development, assessment, and implementation of physical security policies in compliance with regulations and best practices.
- Conduct detailed and vulnerability assessments, and develop action plans to reduce security gaps.
- Develop emergency action plans and conduct regular evaluations of contract security officers.
- Conduct thorough security investigations and assist HR with investigative work.
- Assist in hostile or potentially hostile terminations.
- Build rapport with outside police agencies and coordinate use of outside agencies during investigations.
- Monitor security threats and best practices, maintaining knowledge of changes in regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with internal departments (HR, IT) to ensure compliance with security protocols.
- Investigate security breaches, incidents, and violations; document findings and implement corrective actions.
- Educate associates on security awareness, policies, and procedures through training programs and communication initiatives.
- Be available on call 24/7, travel as needed, and respond on short notice.
Skills and Qualifications
- 10 years of experience in security management, law enforcement, or the armed forces.
- Strong understanding of security principles, practices, and technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of security technologies, incident management software, and related equipment (access control, IP camera systems).
- Familiarity with state laws, regulations, and industry standards related to security.
- Excellent leadership, management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
- Physical fitness and ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergencies.
- Professional certifications in security management or related areas.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
- Training or experience in emergency response and crisis management.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
Work Shift:
8‑hour non‑rotating shift, hours fall to in‑punch day, observed calendar.
