Extrusion Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:

The Extrusion Maintenance Tech maintains and services all electrical and mechanical aspects in the Extrusion Department.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

* Must be able to service all temperature controls on extruders.

* Must be familiar with all extrusion equipment.

* Must help with all maintenance type duties, mechanical and electrical.

* Follow all plant and Extrusion safety rules.

* Regularly maintain pack pressure, spin finish waste buckets, oil reservoirs, tack box filters, monomer, and main resin hopper screens.

* Change packs, jets, spin finish totes, and cooling drum filters as needed.

* Check compressors, air dryers, boilers and chillers.

* Keep work area clean and organized.

* Provide scheduled preventative maintenance and address any repairs.

* Report all defects and damages to maintenance supervisor.

* Maintain all records of repairs and maintenance conducted on the machines.

Performance Expectations (if applicable):

* Lifting is required of machinery and parts weighing up to 150 pounds.

* Standing is required approximately 7 hours per shift.

* Reaching is required of machinery and parts approximately 100 times per shift.

* Stooping is required 4 times per shift.

* Bending is required approximately 40 times per shift for machinery and parts.

* Must use hand tools approximately 40 times per shift.

* Must be able to distinguish colors and shades.

Experience/

Education Requirements:

* Preferred but not required Associates degree or equivalent experience in electrical or mechanical systems.

* Maintenance experience in similar field.

* High school diploma or equivalent required.

* Must be able to do basic addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.

* Computer knowledge and data entry skills.

Other Requirements:

* Must be able to operate a lift truck.

* Overtime is required on occasion.

* Perform any other duties as assigned.

* All accidents must be reported immediately.

* Normal mobility, no abnormal fear of heights or confined spaces.

* Valid driver's license.
