First Student is a leading school transportation provider. We are hiring Part‑Time School Bus Drivers for Dalton Public Schools in Dalton, Georgia.

Job Overview

As a Part‑Time School Bus Driver you will play a vital role in your community and the lives of the students you transport. Your day includes a split shift with a few free hours in between, guaranteeing 5 hours per school day. No overnight or weekend shifts unless requested. Additional hours may be earned through trips and charters when available. CDL training is provided and fully paid.

Responsibilities
  • Arrive before school starts for the pickup shift.
  • Transport students safely to school.
  • After school, drive students home from the drop‑off shift.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and welcoming vehicle environment.
  • Follow all safety regulations and company procedures.
Qualifications
  • At least 21 years old.
  • Valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of experience.
  • No high school diploma or college degree required.
  • Military experience, returning to the workforce, a second job, or retirees are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience driving is not required.
Benefits & Compensation
  • $21.85 – $25.20 per hour starting wage, based on bus driver experience.

  • 401(k) retirement savings plan (benefits may vary by location or collective bargaining agreement).
  • Paid CDL training.
  • $200 bonus if a Commercial Learner’s Permit is completed within 14 days of completion of the State Class.
  • Child‑Ride‑Along Program for working parents.
Other Conditions

This position is subject to DOT drug testing as a safety-sensitive employee. DOT Regulation 49

CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
