We are currently hiring a Regional Truck Driver who is responsible for transporting and delivering products to customers by applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations. The truck driver will be responsible for driving to and from designated locations, unloading tanks, verifying loads to shipping paperwork, maintaining record of duty status according to state and federal regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Employee must pass a fitness for duty test, drug screen and submit to a TB test on a post offer employment physical.
  • Employee must pass a DOT medical exam, DOT drug and alcohol tests.
  • Drive truck regionally within one to day days of Georgia. Requires being on the road one to two nights a week. Home on weekends.
  • Inspect truck for defects and safe operating condition before, during and after trips and submit a written report on the condition of the truck at the end of each trip.
  • Check shipping papers to determine the nature of load and verify for accuracy.
  • Install and remove tire chains as required by weather conditions.
  • Drive truck to and from designated destinations of up to 11 hours with and maximum of 14 hours total per FMCSA regulations.
  • Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speeds in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather. Must be able to operate equipment in all types of weather and conditions. This includes going forward and backing up long distances, around corners, and in and around very tight areas.
  • Requires drivers to be able to bend, stoop, kneel, pull, push and lift all types of hoses, equipment and tools required to do the job weighing up to fifty pounds or more. Also, drivers must be able to climb ladders to check holding tanks on equipment.
  • Package drivers must be able to lift and carry up to seventy-five pounds.
  • Report all accidents and incidents involving drivers or company equipment.
  • Report highway safety hazards noted in route.
  • Promptly report any delays due to breakdowns, weather or traffic conditions or other emergencies, or in the event of irregularities relating to pick up or delivery of cargo.
  • Maintain electronic records required for compliance with state and federal regulations including driver’s record of duty status, mileage records, and other records required by law.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all federal, state and local regulations for the safe operations of a commercial motor vehicle.
  • Follow safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Must have the ability to read and write English language.
  • Must be able to pass a company road test.
  • Perform simple mathematical calculations.
  • Must have the ability to handle receipts, read maps, road signs, maintain records of duty status, etc.
  • Must have knowledge of FMCSA regulations governing safe driving, hours of service, inspection and maintenance.
Required

Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma, preferred but not required.
  • Must possess a valid Commercial Class A driver's license with tanker and hazmat endorsements.
  • Must have a clear Motor Vehicle Report.
  • Must possess or be eligible to obtain a Transportation Worker's Identification Credential (TWIC) for port access.
  • Must meet or exceed the medical standards of the US Department of Transportation.
  • Must have two years of verifiable driving experience with Class A license.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to sit and remain alert while driving for an aggregate period of up to 11 hours.
  • Must be able to pull fifty (50) feet of fully charged hose sometimes weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Must be able to maneuver fuel hoses in, around, and through all types of obstacles and equipment.
  • Must be able to drive a truck with a manual shift transmission and operate foot pedals when required.
  • Must be able to enter and exit the truck cab up to 24 times a day. Cab floor level is generally from 36 to 66 inches above ground level, with entry and exit achieved with the assistance of various configurations of steps and hand-holds; also requires…
