Aramco approved Crane Operator 100 ton - DSV DNV certification

Join our professional maritime operations team as a Crane Operator responsible for safe, efficient, and compliant lifting operations across our fleet. This role performs daily crane operations, routine inspections, maintenance support, and effective communication with deck and deckhouse teams to ensure cargo handling, rigging, and transfer activities are completed safely and on schedule. The Crane Operator will report to the Chief Officer or designated lead and contribute to the vessel’s adherence to company safety and operational standards.

• The role of the Crane Operator is to operate the vessel cranes in a safe and efficient manner.

• Where nominated, the crane operator also acts as Helicopter landing officer and roles and responsibilities are defined under HLO section.

• The Crane Operator will assume responsibilities over all helicopter operations, and maintenance off all helicopter related (safety) equipment.

• The Crane Operator is to ascertain that the cranes are operated safely and within the Company and Client guidelines, and at all times be maintained to the highest standard.

• They are responsible for carrying out routine crane and deck machinery maintenance and any other such related duties commensurate with their abilities and as directed by the Chief Engineer or their nominee.

• The Crane Operator is to ensure that a valid Work Permit is in force for work on the crane or other deck machinery requiring such a permit.

• They are responsible for reporting any malfunctions of the cranes or of any other equipment of which they have knowledge to the deck and engineer officer on watch, and also as and when required to the electrician.

• In accordance with the rules concerning ISM, the Crane Operator’s responsibilities also include reporting as required by Integrated Management System.

• They are to carry out any lawful command as requested by Shipboard Management.

• Wearing, inspecting and caring for required personal protective equipment

• Crane Operator certificate or as per project requirement

• HLO certificate

• Valid Medical certificate

• Minimum 12 months of experience in rank and similar type of crane.

• Experience with offshore energy-sector operations, anchor handling support, AHTS deck crane work, or heavy-lift project cargo handling.

• Additional qualifications such as LEEA technician, advanced rigging, or crane maintenance courses are advantageous.

• Training in permit-to-work systems, onboard lifting plans, and dynamic positioning awareness when working on DP vessels.

• Strong communication, situational awareness, and the ability to mentor junior deck crew on safe rigging and lifting practices.

• Seagoing position with rotational deployments; assignments may include extended periods onboard with defined on/off rotation schedules.

• Work in offshore, port, and confined-space environments; ability to operate safely around moving machinery, at heights, and during inclement weather when required.
