Senior Mechanical Engineer - in person

With headquarters in Laramie, WY, and a pilot system underway near Rock River, WY, we're assembling a team to help bring this breakthrough technology to global scale.

• 7+ years of experience in mechanical engineering with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD software (Solid Works)
• Experience in the aerospace, automotive, or industrial sector is preferred
• Deep understanding of allowables, materials (metallics and composites), boundary conditions, and margin associ ated with tools like FEA and CFD
• Metallics - complex design using 4
  
  XXX, 4XX, A572, A36, steels as well as 2024, 6061 and 7075 aluminum
• Composites - complex design with fiberglass and carbon fiber lamina and laminate
• Bonding - complex design principles for injection and surface structural bonding
• Fasteners
  - Detailed fastener analysis techniques for highly loaded slip-critical joint design
• Fatigue and Ultimate
  - Complex design and verification methods at system-level (vehicle-level) for fatigue, stiffness, and ultimate strength driven design. Detailed understanding of margins and allowables required.
• Substantial experience transitioning products from design into manufacturing at scale
• Deep understanding of DFM, fabrication, and V&V testing to resolve tolerances and margins to requirements
• Experience with aerospace or industrial standards and regulations (e.g., IEC, ASTM, ISO, ASME, SAE, FAA)
• Experience collaborating directly with manufacturing groups and assessing cost-down opportunities

• Conceptual Design:
  Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative mechanical concepts and solutions
• Analysis:
  Conduct structural, thermal, and fluid flow analyses to optimize designs and ensure performance
• Prototyping and Testing:
  Oversee the fabrication and testing of prototypes to validate design concepts
• Manufacturing Support:
  Work closely with manufacturing engineers to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost effective
• Documentation:
  Develop comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and engineering documentation
• Mentorship:
  Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
