Junior Accountant

Location: Danbury, CT
Compensation: $50,000 - $55,000

Our client is looking for a Junior Accountant to join their accounting team in Danbury, CT. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their accounting career who wants to gain hands-on experience across a variety of accounting functions while working alongside an experienced finance team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting, excellent attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.

• Assist with day-to-day accounting activities and general ledger maintenance
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
• Support month-end and year-end close processes
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Research and resolve discrepancies as needed
• Assist with financial reporting and maintaining accurate accounting records
• Prepare supporting documentation for audits and reporting
• Assist with special projects and process improvements
• Ensure accounting activities are completed accurately and in a timely manner

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
• 1+ year of accounting experience; internship experience will be considered
• Understanding of general accounting principles
• Experience with journal entries and account reconciliations
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• Eager to learn and grow within an accounting environment
