Title
Department Assistant
- Emergency Department
- Danbury, CT – Monday – Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm
Responsible for performing various administrative, secretarial and clerical duties. Understands and follows the organization's policies, procedures and standards. Is an independent worker, meeting the day-to-day needs of the administrative team. Participates in the department's performance improvement activities.
Responsibilities- Greets visitors, directs visitors appropriately; maintains the communication flow of the office.
- Prepares reports, memos, correspondence, meeting minutes, special projects, etc., for the Administrative team as requested.
- Reviews and edits all written materials.
- Maintains the Administrative team appointment calendars.
- Answers the telephone in a professional manner; screens calls, takes messages, directs calls appropriately.
- Sorts, logs and distributes all incoming mail; identifies mail that needs immediate attention.
- Prepares financial reports; department activities, travel, business expenses, etc.
- Maintains an organized, efficient digital filing system for easy retrieval.
- Records, prepares and distributes meeting minutes as requested.
- Orders supplies and printing weekly. Assists in cost containment through appropriate ordering and conserving of supplies and equipment.
- Interacts professionally with all visitors, within the department/office and with other departments.
- Demonstrates the ability to be flexible and organized during stressful situations.
- Provides administrative support by tracking, updating, and entering provider licensure certifications and other compliance-related information.
- Assists administrative team in maintaining Provider Time Off information in structured spreadsheets to ensure accurate recordkeeping.
- Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly.
- Accepts and completes other duties as assigned.
- Maintains and models Nuvance Health Values.
- Demonstrates regular, reliable and predictable attendance.
Associate's Level DGRE
Salary Range$17.00 - $31.36 hourly
