Library Clerk at Danbury Library

The City of Danbury is announcing an opening for the position of Part-time Clerk
- Library

Essential Functions:

• Provides engaged and friendly customer service at all library public service desks, including Information Services, Junior, and Technology.
• Uses an automated library circulation system to check materials in and out to patrons of all ages.
• Reserves material.
• Issues library cards.
• Answers phones and directs calls.
• Assists patrons with locating library material, registering for programs, and utilizing computers, copiers, printers, and self-check systems.
• Works under the immediate supervision of the Lending Services Manager and collaborates with the Head of Reference and Senior Computer Technician.

Must have computer and peripheral skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, email, copy and fax machines, telephones, printers and scanners. Must be proficient with basic computer software such as Microsoft Office and the Google suite. At least one year of customer service experience is required. The position requires standing, sitting, and bending for periods of time. Bilingual English/Spanish/Portuguese preferred.

Hours:

Up to 19 hours per week. Three shifts during the week of either 10 am – 3 pm, or 3 pm – 8 pm, and Saturday from 10-2.
