SUMMARY/GOAL OF THE POSITION:
Western Connecticut Regional Adult & Continuing Education (WERACE) is launching an inaugural enrichment program to provide adult learners with engaging, community-based classes that support personal development, creativity, and lifelong learning during the fall 2026 semester. The Enrichment Coordinator will play a pivotal role in designing and launching this new initiative. The Coordinator will be responsible for developing course offerings, building partnerships with local businesses and teaching artists, and overseeing the first-year implementation of the enrichment program.
This position offers an opportunity to build a new program from the ground up, positively impacting the adult learner community across the WERACE region.
ESSENTIAL TASKS OF THE POSITION (Illustrative not inclusive):
* Research, design, and curate a diverse catalog of non-credit enrichment classes (e.g., arts, wellness, personal finance, technology, language, and life skills).
* Develop proposed schedules, locations, pricing structures, and delivery models for enrichment offerings.
* Recruit, vet, and onboard qualified instructors, teaching artists, and facilitators aligned with WERACE's mission.
* Build and maintain partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and community stakeholders to support enrichment programming.
* Coordinate class logistics including space reservations, materials, equipment needs, and enrollment tracking.
* Collaborate with administrative staff to manage class rosters, payments (when applicable), and participant communications.
* Collect and review participant feedback and enrollment data to assess program effectiveness.
* Prepare updates and recommendations reminding leadership on program outcomes, refinements, and long-term sustainability.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
* Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including relationship-building with diverse community partners.
* Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with staff and leadership.
* Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a new program launch environment.
* Comfort working with scheduling tools, outreach platforms, and basic data tracking systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in education, community engagement, program coordination, or a related field.
* Experience working in adult education, community education, or enrichment/recreational programming preferred.
SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION:
* This is a part-time position beginning February 9, 2026 or soon there after. Between February
- December 2026, the role is expected to average approximately 2027.5 hours per week; subsequent years are anticipated at approximately 1520 hours per week.
* Schedule may include evenings and occasional flexible hours based on program needs.
* Compensation ranges from $ per hour, commensurate with experience.
