POSITION SUMMARY:

The Middle School STEM Instructional Coach assists and reports directly to the STEM Curriculum Administrator.

Job duties will be carried out collaboratively with the K-12 STEM Curriculum Administrator, the middle school principals and assistant principals, and teachers, as appropriate, at all three middle schools. This position will be actively involved in improving the middle school program of instruction, including curriculum implementation, common formative assessments, data team initiatives, and professional development. The Instructional Coach will comply with Board of Education goals and policies, adopted Title IX and Affirmative Action policies, and other educational policies as developed by the school administration.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Minimum of five years of exemplary classroom teaching experience in mathematics/science. [Elementary and Middle School Level preferred];

* Minimum of five years experience working with the effective implementation of technology;

* Experience adapting and/or implementing an Illustrative Mathematics, NGSS Science lesson or unit;

* Experience delivering professional development in STEM content areas;

* Understanding of curriculum writing process [preferred];

* Excellent verbal and writing skills;

* Creative, flexible, and a team builder.

* Strong work ethic.

Notes:

* This position will require duties beyond the school day on a periodic basis

* This position will follow the teacher work year

Salary:
Salary and wages are paid in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between NEA Danbury and the Danbury Board of Education which can be found on our website.
