Overview
The position of Curriculum Administrator - K-12 MLL & World Language is part of a team that includes two additional Curriculum Administrators in the areas of STEM and Humanities & Fine Arts. Together, they perform a variety of supervisory and administrative roles to oversee successful program implementation and assessment monitoring district wide. This Curriculum Administrator serves on the District's Curriculum Development Team (CDT) and facilitates communication between building-level administrators and staff to ensure effective curriculum implementation and alignment across K-12 programs.
The Curriculum Administrator reports to The Director of Curriculum, Instruction and K-12 Academy Programming, and collaborates vertically with other Central Office Staff such as the Chief of Schools, building-level administrators, department Heads, instructional coaches, and student services departments in an effort to continuously improve programs of study and strengthen services to students and families, with a particular focus on multilingual learners and world language instruction in alignment with District goals and K-12 programming.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • As a member of CDT, provides leadership to assure alignment between district MLL and World Language curriculum, the District's coherence plan, and state and national standards.
  • Develops, coordinates, and monitors instructional programs for K-12 Multilingual Learner (MLL) and World Language programs and oversees implementation of existing and new curriculum initiatives district wide.
  • Assists in the evaluation and assessment of the effectiveness of current MLL and World Language academic programs and their impact on student achievement across K-12 programs.
  • Assists in conceptualizing, initiating, and implementing new programs in identified targeted areas as needed.
  • Supports and supervises effective coaching and instructional support provided by Department Heads and related staff and evaluates effectiveness with attention to fidelity across all schools.
  • Collaborates with building administrators to assess needs for individualized planning and programming to support multilingual learners and world language instruction.
  • Coordinates with curriculum staff, program support staff, and administrators to provide vertically aligned instruction that meets the goals of the District coherence plan.
  • Works closely with the Administrator for Data, Assessment & Research, other Curriculum Administrators, and building administrators to review student performance data, assess program effectiveness, and develop strategies for targeted improvement.
  • Coordinates and monitors district intervention and support programs for multilingual learners and ensures consistency in instructional practices and programming.
  • Supports compliance with state and federal requirements related to multilingual learner programming and language acquisition services.
  • Assists in the observation and evaluation of certified staff members using the District's Teacher Evaluation Plan.
  • Provides input & coordination in the development of differentiated and meaningful professional development for certified teaching and support staff. Directly delivers professional development to building and team staff.
  • Promotes culturally responsive instructional practices and equitable access to rigorous academic opportunities for multilingual learners.
