• Provide academic instruction and support for students who are enrolled in an outplacement educational program, serving students with social‑emotional difficulties and communication and behavioral challenges
• Develop measurable IEP goals and objectives and participate in progress monitoring
• Complete comprehensive achievement evaluations and written report to propose services and instructional needs
• Use a variety of instructional strategies to engage and motivate students
• Continuously collaborate with school team members to ensure fidelity of learner expectations across the school environment
• Utilize restorative practices to help students regulate their behavior, develop perspective‑taking, and take personal responsibility for their actions
• Other duties as may be assigned

• Knowledge of special education procedures and regulations
• Desire to work with students who struggle with regulating behavior and social‑emotional responses
• Experience in all modules of CT-SEDS
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrate flexibility in response to unpredictability of student academic and behavioral needs

• Active Connecticut Certification in Special Education (Endorsement #: 065, 165 or 265)
• Preference for those with experience teaching or interest in English Language Arts
• Ability to withstand the physical demands of frequent standing, bending, kneeling and therapeutic holding as required
• Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of this job
