The State of Connecticut, Connecticut Technical Education and Career System (CTECS), is recruiting for an anticipated part-time Clerk Typist position for our Evening Apprentice/Extension Programs at Henry Abbott Technical High School in Danbury, CT.

Mondays and Wednesdays | 5pm-9pm

- Collect, process, record, and reconcile student tuition and other payments while maintaining accurate financial and payment records.
- Manage student attendance records through Power School and Schoology, including data entry, tracking, verification, and reporting.
- Retrieve, process, maintain, and distribute student transcripts, records, and related documentation.
- Maintain student records, attendance sheets, forms, and correspondence in accordance with established procedures.
- Provide administrative support for evening programs by ensuring classrooms are properly prepared and instructors have necessary materials, forms, and supplies.
- Greet, register, and direct students and visitors.
- Perform related duties as required.

For over 100 years, the Connecticut Technical Education and Career System (CTECS) has been the leading force in Career Technical Education (CTE) in the State of Connecticut; preparing students to meet the skilled workforce needs of employers. CTECS operates 17 diploma-granting technical high schools, one technical education center, and two airframe mechanics and aircraft maintenance programs.
CTECS serves approximately 11,200 full-time high school students across 31 in‑demand CTE programs, providing hands‑on training in state‑of‑the‑art classrooms designed to mirror real‑world workplaces. Students follow a unique schedule alternating between career and technical education and traditional academics, ensuring they graduate with the knowledge and skills needed for success. Graduates earn a Connecticut high school diploma, CTE certificate in their field of study, and multiple stackable credentials giving them the "competitive edge."
These credentials include but are not limited to state occupational licensure, national technical skill competency certifications, and industry‑recognized credentialing. Many students secure job placements before graduation, while others continue their education at colleges, universities, or registered apprenticeships.
In the Connecticut Technical Education and Career System this class is accountable for performing a full range of general clerical functions including basic processing, reception, filing, record keeping, bookkeeping and typing.
