- Coordinate and support day-to-day administration of the corporate EH&S program for Danbury R&D, Field Operations, and support activities at the Torrington Manufacturing facility.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Support compliance with ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management System).
- Prepare regulatory reports and maintain EH&S documentation systems.
- Partner with engineering and R&D teams to integrate EH&S requirements into design reviews, pilot testing, and new technology development.
- Provide EH&S support to manufacturing operations in Torrington as needed, including inspections, hazard assessments, and program implementation.
- Conduct field site visits to power plants to perform safety inspections, risk assessments, and compliance evaluations.
- Lead or support incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action tracking across R&D, field, and manufacturing environments.
- Develop and implement site-specific safety plans, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and hazard assessments.
- Assist in permitting activities and environmental compliance, including sampling and reporting.
- Conduct audits of EH&S recordkeeping and monitor corrective actions to closure.
- Support contractor and supplier EH&S oversight.
- Deliver training and ensure employee completion of required EH&S training programs.
- Support waste management programs (hazardous and non-hazardous materials).
- Participate in cross-functional project teams to ensure EH&S is integrated into projects and field deployments.
- Support corporate ESG and sustainability initiatives.
- Complete required reports, data processing, and compliance documentation.
- Education
:
Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related technical field. - Experience
: 5+ years of progressive EH&S experience in field or power generation environments. - Candidate Must Possess / Be Knowledgeable In
:- Communication
Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, R&D, manufacturing, and field teams. - Regulatory Knowledge:
Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations. Familiarity with state-specific EH&S regulations (e.g., CT DEEP or other state agencies relevant to field sites). - Technical & Analytical
Skills:- Experience conducting hazard analyses, risk assessments, and root cause investigations.
- Ability to interpret regulations and apply them to engineering, manufacturing, and operational environments.
- Proficient in data analysis and reporting to support compliance and performance metrics.

Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with compliance management systems preferred. - Change & Leadership

- Ability to work in office, laboratory, manufacturing, and outdoor power plant environments.
- Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hard hats, safety shoes, and respiratory protection as required.
- Ability to enter warehouse, lab, manufacturing, and field environments, including climbing ladders and walking industrial sites.
- Ability to travel locally and domestically (30-50%) to support field operations, with periodic travel to the Torrington manufacturing facility.
- Must be willing to respond to occasional after-hours business needs.
- Must be able to distinguish colors.
