Refrigeration Field Engineer – Commissioning Agent

• Conduct site visits during construction and remodel phases to inspect installation progress and verify adherence to project scope, design documents, and programming standards
• Execute on-site commissioning activities, including point-to-point testing and functional verification of EMS-controlled equipment
• Commission newly installed or relocated HVACR equipment
• Provide start-up and commissioning support for refrigeration rack systems in coordination with contractors and manufacturers
• Evaluate and document existing RHVAC and EMS systems for integration into capital projects
• Prepare interim commissioning reports and final commissioning documentation, identifying exceptions, deficiencies, and out-of-spec conditions
• Support resolution tracking with the Construction Project Manager and engineering teams
• Verify operation, communication, and programming of EMS and RHVAC control systems
• Implement minor control wiring modifications and programming adjustments for inspections and commissioning
• Support EMS programming updates as directed by engineering or field leadership
• Act as a technical resource for Level 2 refrigeration and EMS-related issues
• Assist with troubleshooting and resolution of system issues remotely and on-site
• Perform minor repairs and system adjustments on HVACR and control components
• Collaborate with project managers, engineering teams, contractors, and vendors to resolve issues
• Communicate commissioning status, risks, and outstanding items to project stakeholders

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in supermarket construction, commissioning, engineering, or HVACR/controls maintenance
• Working knowledge of large refrigeration rack systems, including DX, Cascade, Micro DS, and Transcritical CO₂
• Experience operating and programming Danfoss and/or Emerson supermarket control systems
• Strong organizational, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Valid Driver’s License
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications
• Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
• Customer-focused mindset with a professional field presence
• Ability to work independently while following established processes and direction
• Comfortable working in machine rooms and field environments that may be loud, dusty, confined, or difficult to access
• AutoCAD experience a plus

Demonstrates expertise in HVACR commissioning and controls, with a strong focus on troubleshooting, documentation accuracy, and effective communication with project stakeholders. Proficient in integrating and programming refrigeration systems while ensuring compliance with project specifications.
