We are partnering with a high-growth, PE backed, acquisitive infrastructure services business to appoint a Chief Financial Officer at a pivotal stage in its evolution.
Having recently taken on its first institutional private equity investment, the company is entering an exciting new phase—transitioning from a highly successful, entrepreneurial growth story into a more professionalised, scaled platform. The business has built strong momentum to date and now benefits from a robust pipeline of M&A opportunities, positioning it for continued accelerated expansion.
The company operates in a mission-critical services niche, supporting blue-chip industrial and infrastructure customers across the U.S., and generates c.$70m+ revenue with strong profitability and clear headroom for growth.
Backed by an experienced private equity sponsor with a strong track record in scaling essential services businesses, the focus is now on executing a disciplined value creation plan ahead of a medium-term exit.
The OpportunityThis is a true “number one” finance role with significant influence across the business and direct exposure to the CEO, Board, and sponsor.
The VP Finance will act as a strategic partner to leadership, helping to professionalise the finance function, drive operational performance, and ultimately maximise enterprise value. You will operate as a player-coach, equally comfortable in the boardroom and in the detail.
Key areas of focus include:- Driving financial strategy, planning, and performance improvement
- Building robust reporting, forecasting, and KPI frameworks
- Owning the financial and reporting function, delivering timely, accurate insights with deep analysis of trends, project-level performance, and clear explanation of variances
- Developing best-in‑class reporting and metrics for management and investors, including meaningful benchmarks to track financial and operational performance
- Enhancing cash flow, margins, and working capital discipline
- Leading systems and process improvements, including potential ERP upgrades
- Supporting M&A activity and integration
- Partnering closely with the sponsor on value creation and exit readiness
This is an opportunity to step into a high-impact role with clear visibility to an exit event, where your contribution will directly shape the outcome.
The ProfileWe are looking for a hands‑on, commercially minded finance leader who thrives in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Ideal experience includes:- CFO / VP Finance / Head of Finance experience within a private equity‑backed business (or strong exposure to PE environments)
- Background in project‑based, field services, construction, infrastructure, or industrial services businesses
- Strong grounding in accounting and operational finance (including cost accounting and project‑based revenue recognition)
- Track record of building or upgrading finance functions in growth or transformation environments
- Experience supporting M&A and working closely with investors and lenders
- High‑quality PE sponsor with a clear value creation plan
- Strong market positioning in a resilient, essential services sector
- Proven growth story now entering its next phase of scale
- Clear path to exit and value realisation
- Opportunity to build and shape the finance function in a growing, acquisitive platform
