Medical Secretary position is located in Danbury, CT.
Expected Duration: 13 weeks
Schedule:
Mon‑Fri 8‑hour shifts between 7:30 am – 5:30 pm – Flexible
Provides secretarial support to department ensuring accuracy of patient’s records.
Responsibilities- Ensures accuracy of patient’s information.
- Enters demographic information into computer.
- Organizes and performs the general functions of the office: filing, typing, scheduling patient testing as required, and pre‑cert testing as needed.
- Answers the telephone and gives information to callers, schedules appointments and routes calls or contacts appropriate staff to assure that effective communication occurs.
- Types information from notes to produce documents relating to the patients, physicians, or the office management.
- Monitors customer satisfaction and outcomes in conjunction with the office and medical staff. Resolves problems and measures improvements.
- Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- HS Graduate / Equivalent
- Data entry and MS Word required.
- Minimum Experience:
one year. - Desired:
Prior medical field experience. Knowledge of medical insurance, managed care plans and the medical referral process is preferred.
