Position Summary

The Manager, MRF Strategy and Analytics is an actuarial leadership role responsible for advancing Aetna’s technical strategy for the analysis, interpretation, and continuous improvement of Machine‑Readable File (MRF) data. This position serves as a subject‑matter expert on MRF data quality, applicability, and limitations in consultant‑led benchmarking and client‑facing analyses. The role partners closely with Network Actuarial, Data Science, and Sales Enablement teams to translate regulatory transparency data into defensible actuarial insights.

Responsibilities

Develop tools and guidance that clarify competitive positioning, define when MRF data is decision‑grade, align MRF outputs with claims‑based benchmarks such as UDS, and establish feedback loops that improve the quality and external credibility of Aetna’s MRFs.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required along with 3+ years of actuarial experience.
  • Associate or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (ASA or FSA), or demonstrated progress toward actuarial credentials.
  • 2+ years of experience in healthcare actuarial analysis (e.g., pricing, network, or cost analytics).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Machine‑Readable File (MRF) data and healthcare transparency requirements.
  • Experience working with large, complex healthcare datasets.
  • Familiarity with SQL or similar query languages for extracting, validating, and analyzing data.
  • Experience reconciling or benchmarking multiple data sources (e.g., MRF, UDS, claims‑based data).
  • Exposure to consultant‑led benchmarking methodologies or external transparency tools.
  • Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
Education

Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.

$92,700.00 - $ (base salary)
