Purchasing Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead the Purchasing & Supplier Management team, supporting Danbury and Winsted plants, with clear strategies and strong decisions to drive operational excellence and supplier partnerships.
• Develop and implement purchasing strategies, policies, and procedures tailored to the assigned organizational unit.
• Monitor and establish performance metrics to ensure effective purchasing activities across all levels.
• Guide and expand the supplier base focusing on quality, cost, and delivery (QCD) targets.
• Collaborate in make-or-buy decisions for sourcing optimization.
• Manage planning, prioritization, and allocation of resources and budgets within the department.
• Initiate and coordinate continuous improvement initiatives to enhance purchasing processes.

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management or a comparable field.
• 7+ years of experience in purchasing and supplier development in a manufacturing or production environment.
• 5+ years of leadership experience in a group leader or manager role.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to establish and monitor performance metrics.
• Excellent decision-making and resource management capabilities.
• Proficient communication skills and a leadership mindset suitable for managing teams and cross-functional collaboration.
