The Strategic Sourcing/Procurement Specialist for indirect materials has regional responsibility of strategic sourcing of indirect goods and services: professional services, facility- and real estate services including property/equipment rental/leasing, IT, Marketing, MRO etc. This position is part of the Americas Purchasing team, reports to the Global Indirect Procurement Strategic Process Manager and bears full responsibility for agreed upon goals and objectives.
What You ll Do- Regional Category Ownership
- Lead the strategic sourcing and category management of indirect goods and services across the Americas, including Professional Services, Facilities & Real Estate, IT, Marketing, and MRO, ensuring alignment, efficiency, and value creation.
- Develop, implement, and continuously optimize regional sourcing strategies in alignment with global procurement objectives, driving standardization, cost efficiency, and risk mitigation.
- Cross-Functional Business Partnering
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to understand current and future business needs, translating requirements into effective sourcing strategies and procurement solutions.
- RFx Process Leadership
- Manage and execute end-to-end competitive sourcing processes (RFI, RFP, RFQ), ensuring compliance, transparency, and robust supplier evaluation aligned with procurement policies.
- Lead supplier negotiations and contracting activities to secure favorable commercial terms, service levels, and risk-balanced agreements in alignment with company standards.
- Cost Optimization & Value Delivery
- Identify, validate, and implement cost-saving initiatives and value creation opportunities through total cost of ownership (TCO), demand management, and consolidation strategies.
- Monitor market, risks, and innovations; develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to support performance, innovation, and long-term partnerships.
- Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Execution
- Ensure accurate and timely creation of purchase orders (POs) in SAP, in compliance with approved requisitions, internal policies, and audit requirements.
- Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
- Track supplier performance against defined KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality, efficiency, and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in indirect sourcing within an international business environment, preferably operating in a matrix organization.
- Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing methodologies, including end-to-end RFx processes (RFI, RFP, RFQ), and demonstrated success leading supplier negotiations.
- Proven experience in project and change management, with the ability to drive initiatives across cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, taking full ownership of procurement strategies and results across multiple organizational levels.
- Solid experience sourcing across indirect categories such as Professional Services, Facilities, IT, Marketing, and MRO.
- Readiness to travel (ca. 10%)
