Previous leadership experience preferred but we are willing to train a new leader. Pay based on full years of experience and pays up to $75.10/hour depending on experience.

Summary

Assumes responsibility for overall daily operation and management of the Respiratory Care Services, EEG, Pulmonary Function Lab and Pulmonary Rehab Departments at Danbury and New Milford Hospitals. Coordinates staffing and supervises activities to maintain high standards of patient care. Ensures compliance with hospital, departmental and governments regulations. Supervises the overall operations of the Respiratory Services and Neurophysiology Departments. Monitors assignments to assure appropriate level of work when indicated.

Adjusts the assignments to compensate for changes in workloads if indicated. The Supervisor reports directly to the Manager of Respiratory Care and Neurophysiology.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures the departments operate within the budgeted levels established and provides input into budget projections as requested by Manager of Respiratory Services and Neurophysiology.
  • Ensures accuracy of daily billing and monitors organizational charge error and billing worklists making necessary corrections. Maintains inventory of equipment and manages supply orders.
  • Reviews appropriate written requirements and compliance needs with respect to Joint Commission and Department of Public Health to ensure compliance with such regulations.
  • Assumes responsibility for employee relations within Respiratory Services and Neurophysiology Departments to achieve the mission, vision and values with positive employee relationships by implementing and communicating human resource policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Evaluates and partners with the Manager for performance appraisal content and implementation within hospital guidelines. Evaluates and partners with the Manager and HRBP to initiate coaching and corrective action to ensure the performance of respiratory services and neurophysiology is within the established guidelines.
  • Ensures patient satisfaction and effective customer service relations between patient and staff.
  • Ensures effective communication that will facilitate efficient and effective operations.
  • Identifies equipment needs and assists in evaluation and procurement process.
  • Maintains and monitors the development, revising and implementing of the clinical and administrative policies and procedures.
  • Participates in the department continuing education program and assures staff accountability and adherence.
  • Coordinates and monitors the performance improvement initiatives and assures staff accountability and adherence.
  • Adheres to the organization's established expectations with regard to hospital values supervisor/management standards.
  • Acts as clinical resource within and outside the departments. Represents departments on committees as appointed by the Manager.
  • Project leadership as appointed by the Manager.
  • Reviews Midas occurrence reports and assists Manager in issue investigations.
  • Monitors the patient prioritization protocol activation and provides clinical care as indicated per protocol.
  • Participates in the department's management on call system. Provides supervisory direction to the staff during off hours, weekends and holidays.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
