Junior Manufacturing Engineer
Hamilton Connections is seeking a candidate for a junior manufacturing engineer position at a manufacturing company in Danbury CT. This is a direct-hire opportunity. The junior manufacturing engineer provides full and complete manufacturing engineering support to production to facilitate the manufacturing of simple to highly complex electro-mechanical products. The hours are 7 a.m.
-5:30 p.m., Monday-Thursday. The salary is $55,000 a year.
- Review new-build opportunities for go/no go and identify if any new tooling is required
- Review Gerber's and create PCB panelization drawings
- Generate digitization of files as needed
- Generate labor time estimates for new opportunities
- Create and/or update visual aids and process plans
- Specify and order SMT stencils
- Attend production readiness review meetings
- Review and address all TAR's; solve technical production issues as they arise
- Analyze MCN's to determine the most efficient way of introducing such changes into the production process
- Support production (CCA, Cable & Box Build) as needed with programming and/or operation of production equipment
- Assist in the maintenance and documentation of production equipment which includes: SMT Stencil printer, SPI, SMT placement machines, SMT reflow oven, AOI, X-Ray, Selective Solder, Wave Solder, PCB Depanelization Router, AMP K-Press, Labeling Systems, Conformal Coating, PCB wash systems, Micro Vu
- Assist in specifying new capital equipment needs and equipment facility requirements
- Attend continuous improvement meetings and address action items in a timely manner
- Design and 3D print and/or build jigs and fixtures that are required to support the manufacturing process
- Perform high skill level rework as needed, such as BGA's, QFN's, Connectors, etc.
- Other duties and projects may be assigned as business needs dictate
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering or other related field, and/or at least 5 years equivalent experience working in a PCB assembly manufacturing environment
- Hands-on experience and process knowledge of production machinery which includes: SMT Stencil printer, SPI, SMT placement machines, SMT reflow oven, AOI, X-Ray, Selective Solder, Wave Solder, PCB Depanelization Router, AMP K-Press, Labeling Systems, Conformal Coating, PCB wash systems, Micro Vu
- Familiar with ISO 9001: 2015 and AS9100 Rev D, J-STD-001, IPC-A-610 & IPC-A-620
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and ERP Systems;
Circuit CAM, Factory Logix and CREO CAD experience is a plus - Experience in specifying/ordering SMT Stencils
- Team player willing to roll up sleeves and help other team members when necessary
- Must be able to meet International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) requirements
- Able to pass pre-employment screenings
