Job Summary

Guideposts is seeking a highly motivated, strategic, and creative Consumer Marketing Lead to drive the planning, execution, and financial stewardship of our consumer marketing programs. This role is responsible for leading both annual and one-shot initiatives, ensuring campaigns are data-informed, mission-aligned, and executed with excellence.

The Consumer Marketing Lead will nurture strong connections with our readers through thoughtful segmentation, compelling offers, and continuous test-and-learn optimization. Working cross-functionally with editorial, design, analytics, finance, and production teams, this position ensures marketing campaigns are delivered with creativity, care, and measurable impact.

  • Develop and execute strategy for all annual and one-shot consumer marketing programs.
  • Own campaign performance, including P&L management, forecasting, and ongoing financial stewardship.
  • Lead campaign budgeting and reforecasting, including universe evaluation, prior-year performance analysis, and promotion expense review/approval.
  • Lead the design, refresh, and optimization of campaigns across direct marketing channels.
  • Develop and execute package, offer, and channel testing strategies using a test-and-learn approach.
  • Identify new list sources and segmentation strategies to improve revenue, response rates, and profitability.
  • Partner with the content team on new product development and throughout the product lifecycle to ensure campaigns effectively serve and grow audiences.
  • Collaborate closely with the digital database, analytics, operations and production teams to develop and execute contact strategies.
  • Work with selection and analytical team to develop segmentation strategies utilizing in-house customer database and outside list sources.
  • Work with finance and production to build print order and priorities for product.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in direct marketing.
  • Strong strategic thinking and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously and adjust priorities as needed.
  • Proven analytical skills, including the ability to interpret performance data and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Proficiency in Excel; experience in Smartsheet strongly preferred.
  • Experience developing and executing test-and-learn strategies (ex. Package, offer, list, and segmentation testing).
  • Experience with direct mail list strategy, segmentation, and performance analysis.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including good writing skills.
  • Innovative mindset with strong creative instincts in a business context.
  • Experience with outside lists, digital marketing, and/or new production development is a plus.
Job Location & Travel Requirements

This role follows a hybrid work model based in Connecticut. The position requires onsite presence at our Danbury office two days per week
, with additional in-person attendance as needed based on business requirements. Candidates should reside within a reasonable commuting distance or be willing to travel to the Danbury office as required.

Salary

$75,000 - $100,000

Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade in which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including skills and experience.
