Location: Danbury, CT
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: 2/17
Schedule: 8-hour day shifts | 40 guaranteed hours per week | No on-call
Shift Times: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (variable)
Weekend Coverage: Rotational
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to provide operational and clinical leadership for NICU and Pediatric units in Danbury, CT. This is a hands-on leadership role supporting daily unit operations, staff performance, patient experience initiatives, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The Nurse Manager will oversee approximately 50–60 RNs and 2–4 Patient Care Technicians while maintaining active engagement on the units.
Unit Details:
Average daily census:
NICU: 7–9 patients
Pediatrics: ~2.5 patients
Key Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of NICU and Pediatric units
Serve as a visible, hands-on leader supporting staff and patient care needs
Promote initiatives to enhance patient experience and clinical outcomes
Build strong working relationships with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
Assist with staffing schedules, FTE calculations, and productivity management
Support supply chain coordination and performance management initiatives
Step in clinically or operationally as needed to support unit flow
Required Qualifications:
BSN or higher degree in Nursing
Current Connecticut RN license
BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications
Minimum 3 years of bedside nursing experience
Minimum 2 years of relevant leadership or management experience
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Nursing or related field
Leadership or specialty nursing certification
Additional relevant certifications
4–5+ years of bedside experience
