About This Role

The Travel RN in the Emergency Room will provide comprehensive nursing care for patients in a fast-paced environment. This role is ideal for experienced nurses looking for a contract position with a focus on emergency care.

• Pay: $2902/week
• Location: Danbury, CT
• Facility: Northwell Health
• Schedule: Full-Time

• Assess the patient’s physiologic health status.
• Conduct patient interviews and explain policies and procedures.
• Assess gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, and neurological health status.
• Determine mobility, sensory deficits, prostheses use, and skin condition.
• Assess level of pain and pain management.
• Communicate and document patient’s physiologic health status and plan of care.
• Assess patient’s psychosocial health status.
• Elicit perception of medical/nursing care and expectations.
• Identify patient’s need for teaching based on psychosocial and developmental assessment.
• Develop patient outcome statements and establish individualized patient goals.
• Implement the plan of care and maintain constant vigilance over patient care.
• Administer medications correctly and safely.
• Participate in patient and family education.

• Education:
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Experience:
  • Minimum 1-2 years of professional nursing experience in the related specialty.

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State and/or Connecticut required.
  • BLS certification required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
  • ACLS, PALS, and TNCC required.
