Full Time Medical Practice RN – Float Team Department
Location:
New York – Brewster, Connecticut – Danbury, Brookfield, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, Southbury.
Schedule:
40 hours per week, 8‑hour shifts Monday‑Friday between 8:00 am‑5:00 pm.
Sign‑On Bonus: $5,000 for full‑time externals, pro‑rated for part‑time.
Responsibilities- Triages and assesses patient conditions via phone or in‑person consultations.
- Determines the urgency and type of care required for patients based on assessment.
- Provides medical advice and guidance based on assessments.
- Communicates with physicians, nurses, and other members of the care team about patient statuses.
- Prepares materials, supplies, equipment, and the patient to assist the clinician with the patient’s medical exam.
- Obtains the patient’s history and medical information.
- Provides direct patient care such as ear irrigation, vaccinations and medications, wound care, nurse visits, and suture removal.
- Collects and processes specimens as directed by the clinician and performs point‑of‑care testing.
- Instructs the patient and caregiver on preventive care, medication, test preparation, treatment monitoring, and symptom changes.
- Contacts the patient by telephone to provide requested follow‑up, relays test results or physician instructions.
- Performs organizational responsibilities to achieve the practice’s and organization’s missions through quality improvement.
- Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
- Maintains and models the organization’s values.
- Demonstrates regular, dependable, and predictable attendance.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Three years of job‑related experience; one year of supervisory experience required. Five years of experience preferred.
- Associate degree preferred; associate professional credentials preferred, including previous medical office experience.
- Active RN license in the state of employment; BLS certification required within 30 days.
- Manual:
Some manual skills/motor coordination and finger dexterity required. - Occupational:
Some occupational risk. - Physical Effort:
Medium to heavy effort; may exert up to 35 lb force. - Physical Environment:
Generally pleasant working conditions.
Salary Range: $36.53–$67.90 per hour.
