4×10 hour night shift, 9:00 pm–7:30 am, Monday through Friday (variable).
Requirements- Minimum 5 years in a specialized nursing field.
- Master’s Degree in nursing required.
- Knowledge of Connecticut Department of Health nursing practice requirements.
- Knowledge of Joint Commission accreditation requirements for the Division of Patient Care Services.
- Experienced in delivering group presentations.
- Current and unobstructed Connecticut Registered Nurse license.
- Certification in BLS, ACLS, and PALS required.
- Instructor in AHA training in one area (BLS, ACLS, or PALS – required to be obtained within 6 months of hire).
- Preferred nursing certification.
- Determine nursing practice and system interventions that promote patient, family, and community safety within the specialty area.
- Use strategies for changing clinician and interdisciplinary team behavior to encourage adoption of evidence‑based practices and innovations.
- Oversee specialty department and division competency assessment processes at the system level.
- Identify and prioritize emerging needs in collaboration with PD and nursing leadership through assessment and evaluation of current system processes.
- Facilitate research and quality projects and integrate findings into the advancement of clinical practice.
- Participate in organizational changes necessary to meet accreditation criteria, legal mandates, or advances in diagnosis, treatment, and patient outcomes.
- Cultivate a climate of clinical inquiry across spheres of influence for nursing and nursing partners.
- Evaluate the need for improvement or redesign of care delivery processes to enhance safety, efficiency, reliability, and quality.
- Provide educational consultation at the unit and organizational levels through participation in committees, councils, and administrative teams.
- Apply knowledge of legal and ethical issues relevant to specialized nursing practice.
- Demonstrate proficiency in electronic medical record documentation systems.
- Write policies on nursing practice in collaboration with leadership and physician partners.
- Develop plans of corrective action for staff not adhering to specialty practice standards.
- Maintain and model Nuvance Health values and demonstrate reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as required.

Salary Range: $45.93 – $85.29 per hour.
